About this event

Welcome to this brand new program for our youth clients and their siblings!

This 6-week yoga series is specially designed for teens and tweens with disabilities. Each class is crafted with care and inclusivity to cater to the diverse needs of all participants.

Personalized guidance will ensure each youth can engage with yoga in a way that suits their abilities and comfort levels. From gentle stretches to mindfulness exercises, the class will focus on building strength, flexibility, and a sense of inner calm.

This series is led by Tina Lashambe, certified yoga instructor with several years experience teaching adaptive yoga classes.

Through this program, youth will:

  • Meet and interact with other TVCC youth clients and siblings
  • Engage in yoga and mindfulness practices that focus on building strength, flexibility, and a sense of well being
  • Learn how to connect with their physical selves, develop a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection, and cultivate a positive relationship with their bodies.

Participant Criteria:

  • TVCC clients and their siblings ages 12+
  • Interest and willingness to participate in yoga practices with their peers
  • Able to participate safely in group activities; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
  • Able to independently follow along with a group with or without accommodations
  • This series is open to all abilities and adaptations will be offered for all
